We had Amelia's 6 month checkup at the doctor's office just before Christmas and she's doing great! She actually increased from the 25th to the 25th-50th percentile in weight (yes she's little but healthy!). The appointment was ordinary but she was sooo funny while we were waiting for Dr. Rogers in the exam room. She is fascinated with any paper but the paper on the exam tables is her favorite thing in the world. So while we were waiting she demolished a whole sheet of it. You can tell in the picture and video that she was thoroughly entertained-at the expense of Dr. Rogers' table! We truly do find joy in the small things of everyday with her!

In her Christmas dress

I can't believe Christmas is already over, but we had a great one this year with Amelia! Last weekend we went to my cousin's wedding in Tennessee, then to Chris' family's Christmas dinner. Amelia was great as usual and it was nice to see everyone. Our Christmas Eve is crazy every year, and this year was no different especially with a small child in tow! We went to Chris' other side of the family for lunch and gifts, then hit the road headed south to Logan County to see my mom's side of the family, then to my dad's side of the family for dinner (WHEW-it makes me tired even talking about it). It was nice to see everyone even though we don't actually get to visit for long, and Amelia was exceptionally good considering all the traveling. All in all we travelled about 500 miles throughout the day-too much! That night we drove back home and returned about 1:00 in the morning.
On Christmas morning we woke up at home and Amelia was in such a good mood. She opened her presents and then we went to Chris' parents house for the day, where she got even more toys! We are truly blessed to have such wonderful family! Now Amelia has plenty of things to keep her busy!

Since this is my first official post, I feel as though I should give you a little background information into the Wolsiefer life. We are completely in love with our daughter Amelia who consumes most of our life these days. She is 6 months old and just became mobile (as in she can get around ever so slightly, either by rolling or pushing herself backwards, but NOT crawling YET). While she is moving she is still for the most part controllable so I can leave her in one room and she is still in that general area when I return. I can only imagine in the weeks to come when she begins to crawl how our lives and home will change! If you haven't met Amelia (you should!) you should know that she is the happiest baby all the time other than when she's hungry. My life is pretty much centered around her:)
Not to say that life as we knew it is completely fogotten. No, we haven't been on a date in two years, and no, we haven't went to bed at the same time since she was born, but some things will never change. It is, of course, hunting season (which, really, is it ever not SOME hunting season?) so Chris has been spending much of his time either hunting or preparing to hunt. I don't mind because I get some alone time with Amelia (she's a Daddy's Girl). However many of Chris' afternoons have been spent loading the boat, moving the boat, making decoys...and whatever else the self-proclaimed 'Duck Commander' needs to do to go hunting for one miserably cold, and usually unsuccessful morning of hunting. It all sounds quite rediculous to me but he loves it!
With Christmas fast approaching we did manage to steal an afternoon away thanks to my wonderful mother in law and do all of our Christmas shopping. Now that the gifts are bought I feel some relief of the holiday pressure except that all of them are piled on the kitchen table waiting to be wrapped! I have serious plans to do that this week barring any setback. Wish me luck and maybe Amelia will actually be able to experience gifts actually under the tree for her first Christmas!
