Our Reluctant Little Fish

This week I have been off work so I wanted to get Miss Amelia out of the house. Luckily, we have lots of great friends that have pools, so I took Amelia swimming. She loves taking a bath, but she's not crazy about the pool thing yet. On Tuesday we went to our friend Cindy's and swam with Grandma, Cindy, and Melanie. It took some warming up but eventually she really got into it, kicking and splashing and playing. Then Wednesday, we went to the Bishop's pool (Amelia's cousin's other grandparents) and swam with Grandma, Aunt Kelly, Alli and Brooke, and Aunt Holly showed up too! She was a tired girl at first, so after a less than successful attempt at getting used to the pool, she took a nap. But after her nap she was more willing and ended up enjoying it at the end. I think a few more times and she'll be a little fish just like Alli and Brooke (but don't tell Alli I called her a fish-she DOESN'T like that-HAHA)!

Da-Da's Day!

For Father's Day weekend we decided to go to the zoo the day before. This was the first time we had been able to take her and we had really been looking forward to it! I could hardly wait to see how Amelia reacted to the animals and noises;) We met Chris' parents and our two niece's there, so it was a big trip;) She really seemed to enjoy it, especially the the 'big cats' and the peacocks...except when they start squacking right next to her or tried to steal her applesauce....other than that she loves them -LOL! It was a CRAZY HOT day, but we made it through and can't wait to go back!
Amelia's waving to the tiger;)

LOVE her special zebra zoo outfit!
On Father's Day we went to church, then had lunch at Chris' parents' house with his dad's family. We had a great time seeing everyone and eating a great lunch! Then we headed down to Logan County to my Nana and Grandaddy's house. They were having a dinner to celebrate not only Father's Day, but my little brother's 8th grade graduation, and my cousin Meredith moving to Atlanta (boooooo! j/k). So we thought it would be a nice chance to see everyone again! We had a great dinner and a wonderful visit, then headed back home around 9:00. It was a LONG day, but well worth it!
On the way home we turned Amelia's car seat around for the first time and she thought it was great! Doesn't she look big!

We had a great weekend celebrating all the father's in our lives! I am so thankful for both of our fathers-we are so lucky! And I am amazed by what a wonderful, loving, caring, funny father Chris is to Amelia! It makes me so happy to see the special relationship they are growing-I can just see them dancing and singing together, hunting together (cringe)! Thank you Chris for being such a wonderful father!

Weeble Will Wobble

We are so excited to say that Amelia has started walking! She first took 3 steps at our friends Greg and Jennifer's house that we were visiting on May 18. Then just a couple weeks later she really started walking at Grandma's house on June 8. Here's a recent video of her totting around-ENJOY!
The week after our big first birthday party we got to go down to Logan County and see my little brother graduate 8th grade! It was nice to see everyone two weekends in a row!

Amelia enjoyed the ceremony!
Jacob definitely does NOT look like an 8th grader!
We recently got out Amelia's blow up pool that Aunt Kelly, Uncle Mike, Alli, and Brooke got her for her birthday! Alli and Brookie were coming over for the afternoon and we thought it would be fun to occupy them on a hot day! Amelia looked adorable in her little swimsuit, but wasn't too sure about the water. We'll keep trying;p

Brooke and Alli loved the pool though! They're water babies for sure!
Amelia wants to say "I miss you!" ;)

Happy Birthday Amelia Grace!

Amelia's first birthday was a couple weeks ago and we had a great birthday party for her! She was asleep when all the guests started to arrive, which was fine because everyone could eat first...and we wouldn't have a tired birthday girl! She woke up right as people finished lunch and we put on her ADORABLE birthday cupcake outfit, that as you will see matched the cupcake theme of the party perfectly! Since people were finished with lunch we did the cake right away, and this girl likes some cake!! She devoured it and most of it actually did end up in her mouth, but she got a little messy for some cute pics!

The birthday girl eating her cake;)

Our cupcake pinata!

Opening gifts outside-we were so thankful to have a gorgeous day!
It was a great day for Amelia and we really enjoyed seeing everyone! Happy Birthday Amelia! I can't believe you're already ONE!
